International Vocational Education and Training Association is a network of vocational educators, vocational skills training organisations, business and industrial firms, and other individuals and groups interested or involved in vocational education and training worldwide.
IVETA
International Vocational Education and Training Association (IVETA) works to advance and improve high-quality vocational education and training wherever it exists and is needed. [1]
TVET
Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) is a broad term referring to those aspects of the educational process involving, in addition to general education, the study of technologies and related sciences, and the acquisition of practical skills, attitudes, understanding and knowledge relating to occupations in various sectors of economic and social life [2].
Members of IVETA
Members of IVETA are practitioners, researchers, and students in TVET, as well as institutions, organisations, and companies actively engaged in human resource development. IVETA is working to create a new era in communication among vocational educators around the globe.
IVETA History and Administration
IVETA was conceived in 1984 by a group of TVET educators who wanted to facilitate sharing of knowledge between developing and developed countries.
The Constitution was adopted in 1985 at a General Assembly and provided for the election of an Executive Committee to manage IVETA activities. The Executive Committee comprises 13 officers who serve two-year terms and include a: President, President-Elect, General Secretary, Treasurer, Membership Secretary, and 8 Regional Vice Presidents.
IVETA is an independent organisation registered as a Non-Government Organization (NGO) in the USA. IVETA has individual and organisational members in over 50 countries in all regions of the World and has linkages with many major national, bilateral, and international development organisations working in technical and vocational education. IVETA financing is from membership dues.
